- I am a library jack-of-all-trades, I suppose. I do what I can, when and where I can, to improve service, make technical work more efficient, and to help patrons. My Sundry Efforts have included Mail Room work, journal receiving and claims, hiring and supervising, working with patrons directly, and managing microfilm collections. Along the way, I've learned to do programming and I've used my skills (limited though they be) to get things done more efficiently. To me programming is a tool, like any other. I'm not particularly fond of it, I just use it when I must and have gotten fairly good at it. My primary programming language is Perl, but I've used C++, Javascript, and BASIC, too. I'm starting this blog as a sort of diary of my activities, a place where I can note what I'm doing. I welcome you to ask any questions you wish about my posts and projects and I'll try my best to answer if I can. We'll see how this goes!
